Announcing our new Principal
Mr Stephen Norris

Picture
We are pleased to announce the appointment of Stephen Norris as our new Principal.

‘With the recent move onto our new site, it is fitting to have new leadership for this next phase of our development. Stephen, with his many years of accomplished leadership within the Independent Education sector in Launceston, is the ideal person to take up the reins. Whilst Stephen is new to the Steiner approach to education, TVSS is strong in its delivery of a high quality accredited education, supported by a School Council committed to strengthening and extending the provision of Steiner Education in Launceston’, said outgoing College Chair, Annie Ball.

'There is no better way to positively influence a child’s future than to take them seriously, genuinely seeking to understand them as individuals.  The hallmark of my approach is listening and attending to them so that we share interactions based around empathy, honesty and fairness. Exposing children in age-appropriate ways to the world around them, seeking to excite their curiosity, confidence and creativity is the name of the game.  I cannot overstate the social and emotional intelligence's that are effortlessly gained by children who are an active part of an inclusive learning community of high expectations.' said Stephen.

Stephen is excited about this career challenge to lead TVSS and contribute his wealth of educational experience.  ‘What I saw when I initially visited TVSS told me that something incredibly special was happening in meeting the contemporary needs of the children in every classroom that I entered,’ he said.

We look forward to Stephen beginning his journey with us on Monday, 6 July, 2020.
